Rating and Taxing Valuations

Westlink is one of Victoria’s largest independent providers of rating and taxing valuations delivering in excess of 500,000 rating valuations for 8 local council clients as part of the annual General Revaluation in Victoria.  As part of the revaluation cycle, Westlink also undertakes in the order of 30,000 supplementary valuations and analyses over 50,000 property sales and rentals per annum.

The rating and taxing team at Westlink have extensive experience in the use of all mass valuation software packages including VM Online, INFOR Pathway VicVals and Proclaim in addition to key GIS packages including E-view, ArcView, Latitude and MapInfo.

The nature of rating and taxing valuations has built Westlink’s expert knowledge in delivering specialist valuations including shopping centres, service stations, quarries, hospitals and aged care facilities, heritage assets, en globo land and commercial and industrial properties.

Revaluation Rental Surveys

The Valuer-General Victoria (VGV) is currently undertaking a revaluation of all properties for rating purposes within Victoria. These valuations will be utilised by your local council to establish rates and will also be employed by the State Revenue Office for land tax purposes.

As part of the revaluation process, property rental information is being collected from property owners, agents and tenants. As contract valuers for the Valuer-General, Westlink Consulting, are collecting rental information for commercial and other properties in order to ensure that the returned valuations are accurate and that the impact of current market conditions is properly considered. Authority for the collection of this information is contained within the Valuation of Land Act 1960.

The information is being collected by a short online rental survey. The information provided will be used for valuation purposes and updating Council’s property records in compliance with the Valuation of Land Act 1960 and the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014. The information you provide will not be disclosed to any other external party without your consent, unless required or authorised by law.
